Remember All Some Other Place special programs are available only by application. A screening process is in place to determine the eligibility of each applicant.

Each year thousands of families approach the emergency services program of Some Other Place for assistance with life’s basic needs. As funds are available, a verifiable emergency exists and there is no other available resource, Some Other Place will assist. Services available are limited and short term. Services include: food, clothing, and financial assistance with housing, utilities, and medications. There are eligibility requirements. Call for additional information.
Emergency Service OfficeSome Other Place home delivers meals to homebound residents of Beaumont. The only requirement for this program is that recipient must be home bound. Meals are delivered Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays. Space is limited. To obtain more information about this program call the Some Other Place Nutrition Center.
Henry’s Place is Some Other Place’s day center for the homeless. The mission of Henry’s Place is to give the homeless a brief respite from the streets. Over 3,000 homeless individuals make over 11,000 visits to Henry’s Place each year.

The Miriam B. Rogers Community Center is a wonderful facility that houses all of Some Other Place’s special programs which include Back to School, Thanksgiving Store and the Christmas Giving Tree. The Miriam B. Rogers Community Center is available at no charge for agencies and organizations that serve Some Other Place clientele.

Most people would know this as a "soup kitchen." Some Other Place takes it a step further. By providing a hot meal to those in the local community who don't have access to a comfortable table like we do. Meals are served for a total of seven days a week. Yes, we get to help every day.
Monday - Friday: Some Other Place offers free hot meals to those in need.Some Other Place sets up a “grocery store” and invites prescreened families to come to “shop” for their Thanksgiving Day meal. Each family chooses the particular foods they desire and are provided with fresh produce, dairy products and gift cards for their choice of meat. Each year Some Other Place serves over 500 families through this program.
Special Christmas assistance is provided through the “Giving Tree” program. Approximately 1,000 children of families who have been prescreened are served through this program. Christmas wishes of these children are shared with Some Other Place supporters and gifts are presented to parents/guardians to give to the children on Christmas Day.
Some Other Place serves a traditional Christmas Day lunch on Christmas Day. Volunteers for Christmas day come from the Temple Emanuel congregation.
Some Other Place provides school clothing and school supplies for approximately 1,000 children every year. Some Other Place coordinates with local schools to determine what is needed for the student's grade level, to assure the proper need is met for that individual student.
